I rarely trust prices sent via email as being a good deal.
Been watching for deals on color led strip lighting with wifi control for future slab project. Well…...

Sorry Lee Valley, not falling for the limited sale gimmick this time. :)

Cheers!

I saw that in the flyer yesterday and meant to post it but totally forgot Nathan. That is a good price.

My favorite go-to glue up table for boxes! Just a rubbin' with wax to keep the glue off and some method of raising it off the table for clamps to grip.

That'd turn into a non-bargain if there are shipping charges 8^)

If you search, you can usually find a free shipping code for Woodcraft. I think the current one is MASTERBUILDER

It's pretty difficult to flatten a plane sole on something smaller than the plane itself, but it's not impossible.

If you want something that is a) bigger and b) free, go to a granite countertop shop and ask for a sink cutout or offcut from the end of a slab. It won't be flat to one thousandth of an inch, but it's close enough. I've gotten 3-4 pieces of granite over the years and all have been plenty flat for working plane soles. So long as it's a work day, they'll have several just lying around near the dumpster.

I thought as much. Thanks for the tip on the granite.

A glue up of 3 pieces of 3/4" MDF will also work fine as a plate to sharpen on. Actually 2 is fine. 12×12" tiles if they are a flat surface, some of the outdoor tiles are even larger. Just looking for smooth and flat. Bring a straight edge, check them out.

Bridge City tools has a labor day sale that ends today (9/8) at midnight. https://bridgecitytools.com/

Klingspor has 10% off Tormek accessories, but I am guessing many other vendors do also.

- LumberJockMan

TBH the Bridge City sale is not much of a sale

Unless they routinely have 30-50% off sales it seems pretty decent.

Are those comparison prices from over a year ago before all materials and production costs started shooting up?
