Hi all!

I joined Lumberjocks quite a while back and had some unexpected issues come up in life that prevented me from being active. But all is settled down now and I'm looking to be more active.

With that being said, I was kind of hoping there would be a way for me to log my projects as I learn and become more experienced without flooding the forums with beginner stuff that won't be interesting for most people here, I'm sure. So, I was thinking about posting them in my Projects tab. Makes sense to me. Unfortunately, when I click "Veiw Gallery," I'm told it requires Flash. Flash is no longer supported by Adobe, and they recommend not using it at all due to security issues. So, it makes me concerned that this community is no longer being maintained. Is there something I'm overlooking or is the projects gallery just not supported and need to be deleted at this point?

The gallery no longer works because I think it used Adobe Flash which has been end-dated. IMO, It was never really any better than just selecting the "My Projects" under the "My Lumberjocks" drop down menu in the upper right. The same drop down menu is where you go to create a new project. If you do not feel like it was successful enough to post as a project, another option is to create a blog where you can sort of document your learning journey, including mistakes or do-overs. If you have specific questions, you will get more feedback by just posting a question as a forum topic than in a blog.

Welcome back to Lumberjocks!

. I m guessing that adding a new project adds to the public posts there?

Yes,
Even when the "Gallery View" was functional, you still had to add your pictures as a project and then they would automatically go to your gallery. You never could post directly into the gallery.

Don't worry about your "beginner stuff", just post them as projects. You would be surprised how they are accepted. Make this forum about you and don't worry what others think.

"Beginner stuff" is for learning. So when you post some of us will make constructive comments and suggestions if we think it will help you…or someone else who has a similar problem. Don't take our comments personal. I started out over 50 years ago and I'm still learning.
