Leecraft Zero Clearance inserts

As for your kickback concerns a set of Board Buddy yellow wheels will take care of that. If your fence has a tee slot on top the mounting rail will be a breeze to intall.
Board Buddies
I bought an extra rip fence for my Bosch 4100-09 to attach the mounting rail for these. Guards are a PITA. They were instituted to take care of the CARELESS. Now the federal gov't has MANDATED riving knives on ALL new table saws producted. You CANNOT "legislate" COMMON SENSE into being.

Scot,
Sorry, I should've said THANK YOU! My bad!

syenefarmer,
Thanks for the reply!
There was a thread I found that refered to this interchangability. I PM'd the OP of that thread, but he looks inactive, so I'm not sure if it worked out. I'm going to give this post/question an afternoon, and order the part regardless. I may be able to modify it without too much effort. Just hoping someone can actually confirm. Also, I looked at the "Shark Guard" and may want that "Spreader" as oppossed to the OEM replacement spreader.

It's tough to decide which way to go. Waiting on a response from the folks @ Shark Guard & eReplacement parts, to see what they say/have for my saw. It's a waiting game at this point, but I have a WANT IT NOW mentality!

Again, Thanks guys for the help. It is GREATLY appreciated.

knotscott,
That really is some convincing evidence!
I was concerned with two potention issues:
1) Height of support in relation to table, a relatively easy mod.
2) Size of connecting rod/shaft, again a relatively easy mod.

You are my Hero of the day! Thank you for doing soooooo much to help me out!

Hi Randy,
"Patience" is at times a scarce commodity. The one "memorable" kick back experience I had was while ripping a bevel. A small triangular waste piece about 3 ft long on the "down side" of the blade got pinched between the table and the blade. I sure was glad that I wasn't standing directly behind it. But this piece was small enough that I don't think kick back pawls would have grabbed it. That incident is "chiseled" onto the "Watch Your Ass" list. I now wear a leather apron when using a table saw.
I just bought some stuff from Fast Cap. They have some really neat stuff for woodworkers. Here's the ballistic nylon aprons.

DIYaholic:

Thanks for the video link. It was an eye opener for me. My craftsman, which i bought used, didn't come with a blade guard either. Now I am thinking about not using it until I put some sort of a safety mechanism on it.

Let us know what you settled on; I may steal the idea from you ;)

Thanks!

BobM001,
Thanks for the link. They do have a lot of stuff! I will have to check it out when I have more time.

tool_junkie,
Yeah, that video convinced me to start this thread TODAY & not to use my saw untill safety issues are addressed!!!
What model # saw do you have? Have you tried SearsPartsDirect.com for replacement parts?

I will continue to update this thread throughout the decision, purchase & install process. Maybe it will help others in the future!

I may be a wuss, but so what….
Splitters and such are there for a reason. Do everything ya can to provide all the safe covers and splitters that the saw needs. I've been hit once. Don't wanna be hit again.
This is one guy who uses guards, splitters, hearing and eye protection, air filtration, blah, blah. If you come into my shop while I'm workin', you'll be required to use the stuff too.
I don't work scared, but I still have all the digits.
Now I'll light up my cigar. (Stupid rationing?????)

In my original post/question, I refered to another thread regarding this same situation. The need for part #62587 for a C'man TS 113.298xxx series. In that thread it was suggested that Ridgid part # TH100020 may be a compatible/interchangeable part, ie; a direct fit!

The OP, of that thread, has contacted me & confirmed that it IS TRUE.

Craftsman part # 62587 IS a direct match with Ridgid part # TH100020 (available from eReplacementParts.com)

I MUST thank everyone for all their efforts to help me in my time of need!

I "Pulled The Trigger", while I still have all the digits to do so, on the two parts I need!

I ended up getting the Ridgid: Support, Spreader part # TH100020 from eReplacementParts.com. I ordered the Craftsman: Blade Guard Assembly part # 62579 from SearsPartsDirect.com. Both parts should be delivered in 7 days. eReplacement Parts needed to order the Blade Guard Assembly and it wouldn't be delivered for 2 weeks. So, I ended up paying double shipping, but it is worth the money, for not waiting an additional week for the parts to arrive.

Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE, for ALL the help! It's Friday Night, grab yourself a cold one, on me!!!
