I am selling for a friend an older Rockwell tablesaw. I know the history of it as far back as the mid 80's. In the mid 80's a retired guy started a woodworking business out of his garage and the saw was one of the purchases. He used it for 3 years and and then became ill and stopped the business. It sat, along with all of the other tools, covered up in the garage until 2000. The family finally decided to sell all of his old tools. I bought them all. I had a large job coming up and wanted some of the other tools for the new job. A friend wanted the saw so I sold it to him. He is not a woodworker and never has used it. He thought he would use it but did not. It has been in his garage under cover since 2000. He recently asked me to try to sell it for him. So, that's the story on this saw.

It has a newer Unifence with 52" rails and a mobile base. It has a single phase motor. It is in very good condition.

He is asking $700 for it.

It is in the Sacramento area.

Please send me an email if interested. Thanks, John

Are YOU willing to guarantee $$$$ the condition of this TS? "Selling for a friend" tends to be one of those red flags of which I am sure you know. Never really used much, never restored, but looks new… Friend of a friend's friend owned it… The "newer Unifence with 52" rails and a mobile base" is particularly confusing since the newer owners never "used it".

I know I could be wrong so help us out with this…

I know this person very well and know he has never used it since he bought it. It already had the newer Unifence rails when I bought it. He bought it thinking he would use it but never has.

YES, I am willing to guarantee the condition of the saw. I took the photos last Saturday.

I would buy it back from him but just don't have the room for it right now.

I hope people won't start giving me crap like this last post. I don't think Horizontal Mike is going to come here from Texas to buy this saw.

I PREFER only someone interested in purchasing the saw will contact me.

Thanks, John

No, I won't be coming to CA from Texas. If someone needs to take the heat for asking those questions, I'll take the heat but please understand the need for that kind of clarity. I agree with CharlieL, this saw does look very nice. To be honest, this saw looks so nice that it is almost hard to believe. I didn't intend to offend but if you feel the need to rip me a new one, fine go for it. I am an adult and can take it.

Would be an upgrade replacement for the crummy 10in contractor (model 401) saw by United (made in Taiwan) I bought years ago. It is powerful but it has some design flaws that makes adjusting it tough.
I bet this Rockwell was made in the USA? Date built would also be interesting.
I really like the large extension and could use this feature in my future (and past!!) projects. I live down south of you in Hemet, CA but have relatives up in Stockton and the bay area so make the trip up once in awhile.
Maybe I need to sell the one I currently own and buy this??? You betcha!!!
Also need a bandsaw… ;)

I deal with John for wood about once a month. I always feel I can trust his word about our deals. I would expect the deal is just as he describes- helping somebody sell a good tool. for a good price. Just my 2 cents.
