Even a 500# cabinet saw will roll around a shop pretty easily on a mobile base.

edit - The Delta 36-5000 is a solid saw….way more saw than the 21807 or PCB22TS.

Here s a nice deal on a good saw….add a mobile base, and you re good to go:

The delta with the router table includes a unifence, that is a great deal for $400!! If that is too much OP, get the $175 Jet, add a mobile base, and go to town!

The fence on the Porter Cable is junk, and you'll spend half your time messing up projects with it.

That does look like a nice saw but Greenville is probably the furthest I could get someone with a truck to take me to get something. Also made a bad choice on a portable tables are off eBay. Would have been fine for some birdhouses but the motor had been made to work ok for a bit. It fried after using it 3 times for a couple quick cuts. When i tore down the motor it was evident that they had run drywall through it. I am CL gun shy right now.

I see good reviews on the 13 amp delta 36-725. That works with financing and 5 year warranty.

That delta is a good saw, however those Craigslist saws are equally as good (at minimum) and will likely last just as long.

Your junk table failed because it was junk with a junk motor. If those CL ones have a straight arbor that doesn't wobble, the tilt/height adjust work fine, and the motor sounds fine, you're golden. The worst that you could need is motor brushes.

Unless you REALLY want to finance, getting that Jet for 1/3 the price is a solid deal.

I'll agree with EK on the Jet….for $175, that's a good deal for CL. Don't underestimate the older Craftsman 113 series, either. If you can get one for $150 or so, add an aftermarket fence and it will be fine for your projects.

I started with one, added a Biesemeyer fence, long side-extension and out-feed table. I ripped sheets of plywood and threw about anything at that saw, within reason….and never had a problem.

I used to have the Craftsman table saw. DO NOT BUY IT! The fence is entirely worthless and the table is a joke. The table extensions are an even bigger joke. The fence has so much flex that it's unsafe and you'll never get it anywhere near square when it's out on the extensions. I sold mine for $100 on Craigslist. I apologized to the guy as he was pulling out of the driveway.

Oh, and laser track. On a table saw? Why?

Has anyone looked closely at the 3rd picture of the jet?it looks as though the extension panel is bent down? Or, is it just me?
Look under the saw blades at that joint

The extension isn't bolted on right, but that isn't a big deal. Loosen bolts, adjust, tighten bolts.

Worst case, New (better) extensions are about $40 (cast iron webbed ones), and making one out of a sheet of plywood and some scraps is trivial.

It looks like shadow from the saw blades to me….not something that would deter me from buying that saw at that price for sure.

I pretty much have decided on the Delta 36-725. I have been reading the reviews and havnt seen anything all that bad about it. There is alot to be Sid about having a 5 year warranty to fall back on if there is a problem. Yes I am paying alot more for the new one but don't have to worry about how the previous owner may have abused it. If, one of you were actually here to go look at it in person with me it might be a different story. A picture is one thing seeing all angles of it, hearing the motor run, etc. Is another.

I do thank you all VERY much for steering me away from the craftsman though.

Just got back from Lowe's. I was able to get them to give me 20% off because of a Harbor Freight coupon. The manager said they did not honor them but then asked what the coupon was. He then said he would give me that off. Wasn't able to stack my military discount on top of it but oh well. I really wasn't expecting to anyway. I did try though

I have a new Irwin blade. It is not a Marple but seem pretty good so far. I just bought it for the POS delta shop master I got a couple weeks ago off CL. I will probably use that for a bit or at least until I sell a couple knives. I blacksmith them and all the stuff that goes with making them.

Thanks again to all that steered me away from the craftsman.

By the way, the quote goes do to an accident I had Thursday. I got in a fight with a RC airplane prop…it won.

Well guys, I am really happy with the Delta saw so far. I have finished my first project with it. I am not a great cabinet make but think my first birdhouse came out great

Nice bird house. I'm a birder with kids, so I can appreciate the craftsmanship and the cute factor. Happy to hear you are enjoying the Delta. I have had my eye on it for a while. Just waiting to finish cleaning out the garage from our house renovation.

Thank you,
if I could have afforded it I would have gone for the 15 amp model but I looked it over and it looks like the same frame so I figured that if it becomes an issue down the road I can upgrade the motor.

I'm in the same boat. I can't justify the price difference.
