Federal Trade Commission law states that they must supply parts or at least availability to a company that can readily supply parts for 7 years. The FTC has some bite to them. If you can not get parts, simply tell them you are going to turn them in the FTC or your State's Attorney General. Importers like Grizzly are very subject to either of those.
I worked around a type of import industry for years. A store with the investment in bricks and Mortar like Grizzly should be receptive to that, if the CS isn't, ask to talk to management, they will be. My mother had a lift chair that broke every year…I got the answer that there weren't parts after 3 years once. In most bigger States there are a small office for the FTC in a Federal Bldg somewhere, I found out the agents name and acted as if we were friends. Miraculously, they were able to fix it, and continued to fix it, until my mother passed away a few years later. No parts is a common excuse that is not always true.
Even after 7 years, the companies sell the parts to one certain repair service…..most of the time they will tell you who that is to get you off their backs. Now make no mistake, those companies most of the time charge high prices for their exclusivity.
I agree 50.00 sounds low, but it may be a done deal now….if there is not a big dent, paint or I like Aj2's idea of a sticker or magnetic sticker too…..and while it might bother me for a while, at the end if the day, its a machine in workshop.
