IMO, looks like a very small rabbit, small amount of glue 90% chance of failure, 100 glue 50% ?
I would consider loose fit and either hide glue or silicone to attach panel?
Box is small enough so wood movement not going to be a huge problem but humidity can do some major damage!

Silicone stays flexible will move with the wood as will hide glue to a lesser degree. Only problem with silicone no finish will stick to it so either prefinish box or glue it together, apply finish then put small bead on the inside as insurance.

you could try option #3 and use a fastener similar to a table top fastener or desk top fastener. just a smaller scale version. it will allow the two different types of woods to expand and contract at their own rates without worry of distortion. you could use small pieces of brass and #1-4 screws

 

I make a lot of small boxes and have found in my experience that the panels are so small that the wood movement is negligible to non-existent.

It looks to me that your mitered corneres have been reinforced nicely and should do a good job, and so I would not worry about it too much.

Big panels, big movement; small panels, small movement.

I recommend the Titebond hide glue. Has some give as mentioned but much easier to use than the old school hide glue with glue pot.
