Went to Walmart to buy the $138 tv and they had a 75” Samsung for $300. Bought both. Got home unloaded and the 75” was cracked. Called and they said they had more. Went back next door and said they sold all of them. Refund only as it was their store only selling the 75” for $300. Kinda a shady deal to me as I thought all sales in your area were the same. Guess each store does what it wants..

Did I have an option?

Satisfaction guarantee?

Hard to say without knowing more about the details. Store managers have the ability to set prices. Could have been getting rid of inventory, limited time offer to bring in customers and increase sales, pricing error, pricing a limited number to compete with other retailor sale on similar tv and several other options. They typically don't price match other Wal-Mart stores as they are competitors.

Manager sale, but no offer to order me one..

Correct often they just aim to move 5 or so units. The goal get in store purchases and then you buy batteries, power cord, HDMI cables, maybe a tv stand, then well why you are there pick up this or that. It is scary to see how well retailers know sellers. In the end they may make their main profit of the other items and not squeeze out too much on the TV. To boot many will end up buying a more expensive tv as that is one is out and then finance it through the store. In the end they have an unlimited supply of shoppers and aren't too concerned.

Getting people to shop online is another big goal of most retailers. In the end it saves them considerable money as can operate with smaller square footage and fewer people.

I am not @JackDuren, but I might have tried to bring the TV to a different Walmart that has the TV in stock. I would have told them that the original store was sold out and could not exchange, only refund. The deal was a good deal, so you want to exchange it at another Walmart so you can have and use the TV you purchased from them. I am not aware of any Walmart policy that dictates which Walmart you must exchange the product. You must first ask yourself if the fight is worth what you saved on the deal.

I have learned not to buy electronics at Walmart, especially the many products that are sold under Walmart-owned brand names. There are many Walmart brands, so it is easy to be fooled. Those products are made overseas and come with minimal documentation. They lack any customer support or assistance. You cannot determine the manufacturer. The ONLY support or warranty you have is Walmart's 90 day return policy. If your item fails on the 91st day after purchase, it is no better than a brick.

So here it is again. I have several flat screen Zeniths I bought from Kmart. There really good tvs, but I have to use an Amazon stick to access youtube , etc. Here is the problem….Since we got off cable the Amazon stick has been slow on a few of our older tvs. Sometimes it will lags or just kick you out several times. So it’s time to upgrade.

So #1 it was a great deal and upgraded the main living room tv. #2 It was hard for up to carry in the house and back. #3 ..Im not going to pull that tv out at the store.

Today they announced a $2.99 a month bundle (with ads) of Disney+ and Hulu. Today and tomorrow only (1 and 2 December 2024) for new subscribers. I do not know whether Hulu offers sports.

We are done with Disney+ and are going to cancel our (no ads) Disney+ only account anyway. The prices keep rising and we vote with our dollars. We hardly watch it and it is not a value for us. It won't expire for a couple months, which is a problem if we want to replace it with the cheap bundle.

We tried to sign up for the $2.99 bundle with ads, but were rejected as a current subscriber. We will talk later today about whether we want to create a new email address and account for the $2.99 bundle, just to retain access in case we want to watch something.

I hope this helps Jack and others. If you go for it, you must get it done by tomorrow.

We gave up on Disney and will let it expire at the end of the year. Prices have skyrocketed for their basic streaming service with no ads. It started at $6.99 a month, and now Disney wants $16.99. We vote with our dollars and Disney just lost our vote. The prices keep going up and we use it very little.

We do better with used DVDs for $1 at the swap meet.

Disney isn’t what I’m after. It’s the other things..

I bought a Solo stove from Walmart for $75 a couple years ago. I thought it was an accessory or something, but no it was the actual stove. A manager was ringing it up because even the cashier thought something was fishy.

The manager said that what happens occasionally, is that someone will order something online from Walmart dot com, then the customer will refuse delivery. It'll sit on the truck until it comes to a walmart and they dump it off with all their other stuff. Since it's not in their inventory and there isn't a way for them to send it back, they'll just accept it and sell it at a discounted price. As far as Walmart is concerned, they still made $75 on something not inventoried.

This has happened a couple other times in the past, like a grill I got at Home Desperate that they didn't sell, or finding Ozark Trail stuff at the REI garage sales.

I think they did a terrible job explaining to you this was a one-off sale, and you probably should have contacted Samsung for the warranty instead, but I don't think you did anything differently than I would have done either given the information you didn't have at the time.

Yea, I would be cautious anymore buying things like tvs from them anymore. If you do- unbox it in store.

My biz partners dad, who is of limited means, bought a tv from there, screen was cracked. He went to return it, clerk said they needed serial number for the tv. He helped her get it out of the box to check it. It didn’t match! Store manager called the cops on him. I know for a fact he was not the scammer, he was the victim of a scammer too. Prob someone knew the return clerk or something and had done the swap.

Had he opened the box in store it would have prevented this. Luckily we work in credit card processing so she was able to guide him through doing a chargeback so he wasn’t out his purchase in the end.

But yea after his story and yours I’d say if ya buy something like that from them- check it out before leaving the store…

Simple little tip: IF they set up a pallet in an aisleway and there are 6-8 TVs on it, and they are marked as "SALE"...walk on by...as those 6-8 TVs are the ONLY ones they will have IN the Store......

The Boss watches a "WalMart TV" in both the Living Room and the Bedroom....and..my Monitor (HP) is from WalMart...zero issues. But, we bought ours of a shelf IN the TV Department's wall display of WORKING TVs.

Bummer, you had your expectations high on the big TV at decent price and it was broken and they don't have any more.

Good thing you bought the other one at the same time.

Prices will come down again... be patient.
