It is a Stanley, a very recent model, like last 20 years or so. The 0559B shown in the one pic is the model #, so definitely marks it as Stanley, and all the other clues (logo, iron style, lever cap, ribs on the body, etc) are consistent with that model and years, as well.

The more recent planes, such as that one, are not as good in quality as the earlier ones, as you have already noted, but can make decent users. It'll never be a collector's item, but if it's working well for you, keep using it.
