I've been working with wood for the last four years and as my skills have improved, am now looking to increase the quality of the materials I've been working with. So far, I've been using (and been frustrated by) the hardwood plywood (oak and birch) from the box stores. I've tried to find "local" sources for both shop grade and cabinet grade plywood and haven't been able to find much.

I live in Fredericksburg, VA and have to believe with as much as there is in the area between Richmond and DC, there just has to be sources out there I just can't find. If someone could point me towards a good source, I'd really appreciate it.

I have gotten some Baltic Birch at Woodcraft in Springfield. It is a 2 hr drive for me, the road situation in Springfield sucks, on my GPS it looks like someone dropped a bowl of spaghetti and every time it told me to turn I had already passed the road.

My next stop was going to be here http://colonialhardwoods.net/ but Woodcraft had what I wanted so I just got it there.

You can always hit Paper Moon across the street from Woodcraft if you are into that sort of thing.
