Damn…I just noticed that Rob (socalwood) is no longer on my friends list. Then I read that he asked Martin to remove him from the website. What a shame that is! Rob is truly a nice guy and one of the few people I spoke via PM to.

Who knows why he pulled out?

It does suck that they are leaving just because a few made a mess of things, I guess one bad apple really does spoil all the fun.

Oh well, I am here and I will start posting more and learning a lot more than I have found on other sites.

Keep up the good work Martin!!!

A commercial business has too much to loose being associated with what has transpired here in the last couple of months. They need to make the best possible presentation, especially in this economy. He probably felt he could no longer risk offending any potential customers who might see his business here. Women make most of the decisions about home decor. I imagine that is a big part of his wood business. One potential customer being disgusted by what she saw here is Long Yankee Green out his pocket.

Actually, though I am not at liberty to speak for Rob, he was/is my friend. I got the impression that it was not the "rules" of Lumberjocks that frustrated Socal, but rather the lack of common courtesy; including "misrepresentation of facts" and "mischaracterization of people/members. " He will of course be missed. PS It might behelpful ant this junture to know that Rob contacted me before the Coffee Lounge was closed and said he would be leaving L/Js.

What would be great is if we had a way of blocking someone who is being inappropriate from posting to pages to send a message that "if you're rude or inappropriate and can't respond in a civil manor then you can no longer reply to my posts." You can block people on Facebook, why not here.

I'm sorry to see the guy go.

I haven't been on much for a while . . . I don't feel like getting censored on what I can and can't say . . . especially when a post just gets deleted. I used to moderate a few online boards and mailing lists and it's a pain to deal with somethings, but it's just as easy to put up your own blog area, friend people on Facebook and skip the drama.
