There are many styles of spatulas.

Wiser, if you can remember the style, maybe you could make a rough sketch or drawing and share it with us.
How will the spatula be used? frying pan, grill, large griddle, etc.

Wiser - do you have a metal spatula that you like the style of ?? (just copy the profile onto paper or cardboard for your pattern).
For me personally, I like for the handle of the spatula to be higher than the sides of the frying pan. And, the length accordingly. Large pans, long spatulla blade, small pans, short blade, etc etc etc.
There is no "one size fits all".
