I am new to Lumber Jocks and have picked up some good information reading the many postings here and thought I would ask a quick question for a friend. When I purchased my Jet AFS-1000B filtration system it came with both a ceiling and wall mounting system. I had the ceiling height, so I mounted mine that way (love it!). A friend is looking at buying one but would need to mount it on the wall due to ceiling height restrictions. Any thoughts / experiences with mounting the unit this way and how it performs ?

I just used some of those extra long shelf brackets and made a shelf for my 1000B to sit on. I used the kind of brackets that have the support arm that swings down from the underside and acts as an additional support. At first I just set the air cleaner on the brackets but it tended to move when the unit was running. A piece of ply cut to size and some of that rubber shelf liner made small work of that problem.

I was going to suggest a shelf that it sits on edge on and then bungy cord it to the wall so it won't fall down. Strong shelf brackets will do the same thing. Strong, secure and dirt cheap.
