I heard somewhere that mixing mineral oil with shellac when using a pad or cloth to wipe on the shellac will give you longer and smoother application of the shellac. I am assuming this is true about dewaxed shellac also. I am using Zinzer's Seal Coat over a General Finishes water based stain before applying my top coat of General Finishes' Arm R Seal. I know that you have to wipe off the residual mineral oil with Naphta before proceeding to the top coat but I was wondering if it is necessary to wait longer than the normal drying time for shellac. Should I wait over night or a whole day or two before attempting to wipe off the residual meneral oil?

Thanks, Les. I read that article and it was about the only one I found. I posted the topic to see if some of the "jocks" might have had any experience. I appreciate the response .
