Kreg - Precision Band Saw Fence (Rating: 3)
First of all, I want to apologize for my english level. My parents have decided to be french.
That being said, I hope this review will be useful to you.
I have bought Kreg Jigs in the past and have been pleased by the overall quality and ease of use.
That's why I have bought Kreg Precision Band Saw Fence, Resaw Guide and Rip Cut Jig to enhance my shop.
Here in Québec/Canada, as french is the official language, companies have to provide french manuals. It's not a whim, it's a law. Kreg does not seem to know that.
The Rip Cut Jig looks correct, easy to assemble, except some nuts are missing. "Monday Jig". I fill a support ticket on kreg's website. A few minutes after that, I get a reply. Parts will be shipped.
Let's look at the resaw guide. Trivial you say. The small teflon-like feet are loose. No way to get them in place, except using glue. Not an acceptable solution to me. Another ticket. Another reply. "Monday Guide"
Last but not least, the Fence. Assembly is easy but again, teflon-like feet are missing. The fence is rubbing over the band saw table which makes an horrible sound. Anoter ticket….
"Monday Fence". The quality by the way looks correct. I'm not sure the knob-style lock is the best for a fence, I think a push down lock as a table saw fence would have been much easier to use but.
Maybe you think I've been neglecting and I have lost those parts but I can honestly say they were really missing. It can happen but 3 in 3 is a bit too much for me. These are premium products and quality control should be a bit higher.
That's why I give only 3 stars. At this time I can not fully use any of these products.
