My software said "your connection is not private" so I turned around and clicked out.

That part wouldn't necessarily be a red flag. It probaby just means they don't have a certificate.

However, this is definitely a scam. And definitely get a new CC number. Don't wait, do it today.

(As an aside, that's one of the things I like about the Apple credit card - you just tap a button and it issues you a new number, no new card required.)

This^^

Don't be afraid to visit unsecure sites. There are enough browser addons to protect you from drive-by installs and malware. But do be cautions when purchasing with a credit card. (Insert cliché statement here)

What drives me mad is there is no known recourse for these scammers. It would be nice to be able to follow this through to see what the end result is. Sadly, it may already be the end for this episode.

Keep us posted nickbatz.

as is the case, it sounded way to good to be true and it was.live and learn.

Sorry for posting this. I had no idea it was a scam when I did. :(

dont be sorry you brought it to light and now everyone that reads this thread will beware.

Update: I had paid through PayPal. When I tried to contact the vendor through PayPal their email address didn't work. I tried PayPal resolutions, explained the situation and literally within one minute PayPal refunded me. They must have had this vendor flagged.

I ordered this through Ebay. Can also get it from Unitedclamps.ca . I have been pleased with it so far. It has its quirks but it does the job for 5mm and 8mm dominos. It comes with a 5mm bit, (he also sells replacements, Bought two extra) and I bought a whiteside 8mm bit and Makita 8mm collet.

I made a jig to hold it down and use on 3/4 material. I did modify it with a piece of aluminum to close up the opening a bit for doing the ends of 2" wide boards. Also stuck a piece of 400 grit sandpaper under the fence to help hold material.

I have used it on flat faces with the fence turned around, multiple sized wood. Pretty happy.

As long as you hold on tight and hold a vacuum hose close it gets the job done.

Will hold me off until the wife lets me get a domino. Which at my rate will be 2028.

Taken out of context, that may or may not be a concern. It could just mean they didn't pay for a certificate.

But I regret starting this thread. As I said, I had no idea it was a scam.

I just ordered it to see whether it works. For $50 (the price in the ad) the risk is small.

For those saying it's a scam because the price is all over the place: No. It might well be a scam, but a wide ranging price isn't a solid indicator because the higher end prices might just be getting a mark up enough to look "better" without the Festool pricing.

Ad says 10-20 days for delivery. Just in time for the next commissioned table I'm building. If it saves me time, I'll put off buying an actual Domino longer.

I'll keep y'all updated.

wow, you were warned !!! if you click on it it just says potential security risk, and you still went for it huh ? good luck-lol.

Those were words, I get it.

But I have no clue what your attempt at humor is supposed to accomplish.

I don't think he was trying to be funny. I hope you used a payment method that will reimburse you if it's a scam. I ordered something that was too-good-to-be-true from a site in Indonesia a few years ago. It was a scam, but PayPal took care of it.

Apologies.

I misread.

No, the site didn't show any potential security risk.

Yes, I used PayPal; I'm protected.

Anyway, I'll let y'all know how it works out.

On that page, I get this.

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from nuggetsmall.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

NET::ERRCERTCOMMONNAMEINVALID

An Oooopsie like that says no go there to me.
