It's the previous version of this model c12RSH. It has the two rails on the side if that makes sense.
I got it for fathers day 2016. I haven't used it that much but I have a lot of projects coming down the pipe. My wife keeps adding to the list and now my saw is down.
The issue is a high pitched noise. It is so loud with the dust collector running and hearing protection I can't use the saw. It's not consistent either. I can't tell if it is coming from the motor or some other part of the saw. Some times it doesn't do it until I let off the trigger other times its like mid cut. Doesn't matter what i am cutting it did it last night cutting a 1/4×1/4 molding. I have taken some of it apart looking for obvious signs of damage but it looks clean. I am leaning towards a baring but I can't seem to get them out to really inspect them. With the blade off and turning it by hand it fills smooth. There is some play in the gear box (not sure that's a good name for it) where the belt is connected to a shaft that is connect to the arbor. The other thing is even just running the saw for a few seconds without cutting anything the screw that goes in the arbor gets very hot. That makes me think its in that gear box assembly. Looks like I can get those parts for around $40 but I am not sure if I am going down the right path. I have never owned or used Hitachi power tools.
