I noticed woodpeckers makes something for this that has dust collection built in. Anyone made their own variation of this and care to share?

Also, are these universal or are they typically brand specific?

I know that somewhere in one of the drawers I've got a couple that came with my plates. Can you add a link or photo of what you're looking at because I'm not sure how DC would be built into a guide pin.

Since I'm generally always using my router fence for the DC even when using a bearing, I have not had a situation where I've needed to go and hunt down the pin.

They say "adapts to other plates by drilling holes" so I'm guessing not universal. Personally I use my fence way to often to want to bolt and unbolt this for the occasion of freehand routing, but if that's what you do, then this seems good. Any chance it would get in the way, for tight turns?

Nice attachment jb!

I just recently routed a large number of frames just as you illustrate and as always, the sawdust piled deep and thick.

As to using a stop pin, I've only used it maybe twice. The free hand guard with the DC attachment does however look useful for quick set up when the fence needs to be pushed way out of the way.

Here ya go! Im actually in the same boat and would prefer to just use this vs a whole fence.

That's a cool attachment. I handle dust control the same as JB, Not as nice as his set up.
JB I have been wanting to rebuild my router fence and will most likely borrow a little bit of your design.

As far as universal fit goes. I have the same Woodpecker lift that you see in JBs post. Not sure what size the pin is. But I think all lifts, and plates come with a pin. so if threaded different from the Woodpecker brand, I bet all you would need is a longer bolt with of the proper size.

From what I have seen there is a "standard" size that fits "most" router tables, but probably not all. Can make your own by cutting the head off a bolt or just buy the $5 rockler one https://www.rockler.com/fulcrum-pins-for-rockler-router-table-plates

If I were to make one I would probably go this route with the plastic bushing:

Ok, quick edit here, Thanks SMP, Proper name of the part. Fulcrum pin. I went and checked the pin on my woodpecker lift. and it too is 1/4X20. so it matches rockler and Benchdog.
