There is a false Dewalt website (dewcxeo.com)advertising greatly reduced prices for Dewalt tools. 735 planer $99.00, 6piece tool set $99.00. It is a scam. They charge your credit card or pay pal and send you a package of smiley face stickers. Don't fall for it. Since they actually send some thing with a tracking number the card companies have a hard time crediting you.

There are other people on Facebook Marketplace doing that. Or maybe it's the same people.

I actually PM-ed them to ask why the price is so low - with no intention of going for it - and the guy (must be a guy) wrote back with "my prices are always like that, here's my website." The website had all kinds of misspellings and ridiculous grammar, which to me said it was probably some offshore thief.

Sure, here's my bank account #.

Purchased from web site www.dewcxeo.com several Dewalt tools ~ $150.00. After payment received an email confirmation was from support@bhishop.com . When I received our AMEX statement the purchase was from PKT ECOMMERCE PURCHASE. I ordered June 18, 2020 and we did not receive until the end of August. The shipment was a knock-off Ray Band Sunglass with 2 oz shipping weight. Emailed and told them my Dewalt tool was toy sunglass. They asked me for a picture. I sent it and they would not answer me back. AMEX refunded my funds and did remove them as a client of theirs.

The only time I purchased something that sounded too good to be true, it was actually true. Some guy put up on CL a brand new in the box 3 HP dust collector for $200. When I went to look at it, it was as described. I had to ask him if it were hot, and he said no, he works for a tool place and it was a return because it needed 220 VAC and wouldn't run on 110, so he got it at cost for his dad. His dad didn't want it because it was too big. So I got a brand new 3 HP dust collector for $200.

Ditto

It's because of guys like us they changed their scam rules.

Still, people buy timeshares not realizing they guarantee they will pay whatever taxes and maintenance fees are deemed necessary forever and ever.

We live hoping that we will find the free lunch.

Reminds me of folks that believe they can attend timeshare weekends and get a free vacation and a gift desk clock too!

I actually did that for my honeymoon. To Cancun Mexico.

The US Government can find out if I reported a $100 1099 last year BUT cant do a damn thing about people like this!

caveat emptor (ˈɛmptɔː)
(Law) the principle that the buyer must bear the risk for the quality of goods purchased unless they are covered by the seller's warranty

The government can't do everything for us and I would want them too. It's like the cops can't protect you from everything so owe a gun.

However, the law of contracts assures us we, within reason, receive that for which we paid. If someone posts a picture of Seabiscuit in the prime and tosses in a relative description, being sold a mule just doesn't play out.

Of course, the public records of the many police agencies throughout our land make clear, as said above, government cannot protect us from all evil.

It s easy to post kindergarten-level philosophy, harder to know the difference between a rip-off and a deal when it s not blatantly obvious.

Yes, $10 for a $1000 item is a scam. But what about $500?

That's when a seller's reputation kicks in, Ebay has ratings, another site I've used for photography equipment from private sellers does the same. Stevejack wonders why the US gov't doesn't protect us and do more, pretty impossible when most of these scams are not only from outside the US, but from places like China where their gov't steals as well; and yes, this scammer is based in China!
