Building a simple Edison Lamp.

I made this very simple Mason jar Edison lamp using only a few things and some scrap from around the shop. You could make any style or shape of base for it and really tailor it to where it is going. This one came out pretty good.

That's a great looking Edison lamp! Simple, and cool at the same time!

I do have a question about the airflow, though. Since heat rises, and there are no vent holes at the top, it seems like the heat would just build up at the top, not flow down to the bottom of the jar and escape. So what's been your experience with the heat?
