So I bought my first ever rail & stile bit set, watched a couple videos and set up for my first test cut. Turned the router on … and suddenly there's red plastic flying everywhere:
The router had slipped out of one of its mounts:
Luckily it just chewed up the plastic insert and didn't hit the steel table:
I'm sure I must have been sloppy in setting up the router the last time, so I take all blame, but I was wondering what people thought of these older Veritas Router tables, how they stack up against other commercial tables and whether they had any reservations using them with larger bits etc? (Its the only router table I've ever used, so nothing to compare it to).
