2001 Griz G1258 Value - Or Buy New?

About an hour from me is a Grizzly G1258 2hp 20" Bandsaw. Seller is asking $1050 which I immediately thought was high. Not sure the price on this new but couldnt have been more than $1500 in 2001. Seller mentioned new saws of that power are $2,000+ which they likely are BUT those are new and not 15 years old.

Is that a decent price? I think a Laguna 14-12 is also for sale for $1,000 with a mobile base. Less power but newer.

The G1258 was around $1200 shipped when new. That is the last generation of Grizzly saws which were not near as good as the current 513/514 series saws and you can get a 19" w/3hp shipped for $1600. The saw is overpriced, it isn't a great saw and should be in the 500-600 range.
