While looking at table saws on Craigslist (see my other post) I came accross a guy selling a Foley Belsaw Model 684 Jointer Planer Moulder for 150$...that is a steal right, says it is in very good condition!

I have a Belsaw 12" thickness planer I bought back in the 1970s and I am happy with it. Back then there were virtually no thickness planers made for the home shop except Belsaw which was also sold by Sears. Now there are many of them. Belsaw planers look a little "rough" but they do a good job. As to the $150, I would have to compare it to what today's new equivalent 12 inch planers cost and I haven't been keeping up with the prices. If the Foley-Belsaw planer looks in good condition and runs well and costs about half what a new 12 inch planes costs I think it would be a good buy.
