When to buy Festool?

I'm looking to buy a ts55 req with 118", 75" and 55" rails to make an easier time ripping 8", 10" and 12" boards into thinner pieces. Some of these boards are 15 foot long.

I often see where festool has a 10% off a vacuum or MFT/3 table when you buy a saw.

Are there any times of year where they have a discount on the saw, or saw with tracks?

Just wondering if I should pull the trigger now, or if its worth waiting.

I would look at Bob's Festool online. Great online shop for everything Festool. Call him and ask. If you are ready for it now and have a use for it, just get what you need. Sometimes we fuss too much with waiting on the right sale. There are rarely Festool sales, but regularly they have price increases!

+1 on that. It sounds like you have the need for the track saw, several rails, and the dust collection system now. A potential savings of 10% on just the dust collector probably is not that big a portion of the overall price tag. If you need it now, buy it now. As Brian mentioned, the chance of a price increase before any small sale is pretty good. You snooze you lose!

Thanks guys, i'll pull the trigger now I guess.

Any opinion of which blade I should get to rip 40 year old rough sawn pine and oak? Does the blade it comes with work for that application well? Doesn't need to be glue line smooth.

Toolnut.com seems to always offer the 10% off a dust extractor or MFT when you buy a Festool tool. I just checked and tehy are now. Free shipping as well. I've had good experiences with them.

I have a TS55 and I've very happy with it. I would definitely suggest getting a rip blade if you'll be cutting thick solid wood. My stock blade was struggling, but the rip blade works great.

If I remember right about 20 euros. I have prime, so not sure if that affects it or not.

if you buy another domino kit check amazon.de .

Good prices, but the one I wanted is sold out. What is the shipping to US?

I was in the my local wood working house of ill repute yesterday and overheard the store manager say that Festool may have a deal in October. He didn't much in the way of details, but sounded like a tool exchange program. Where if you buy a festool, send back the tool it replaces. With festool paying the shipping.

Stay tuned later in the month and watch the obvious houses of wood working ill repute web pages or flyers….

Anytime is a good time to buy Festool!

I also get email notifications about the reconditioned items. They are 20% off retail. I've gotten items that look like they are brand new and I have gotten some with some small scuffs and wear marks.

I will likely keep trying to buy the reconditioned items as long as I don't have any issues with them.
