Pottz, nice job digging that up. That would be interesting to see interviews.

WBBN - that box is cool.

BTW I have had minwax in my shop since I was a teenager. I have all kinds of wax in a cabinet.

Pottz +1 on minwax *************** - somehow the quality has gone way down hill or its the humidity here.

I want a Lumber Jocks Tee shirt!

Member Member tournament this weekend. If there is no follow up from me (then we sucked).

Pottz- sorry I missed your bedtime tuck-in. I would have read you a bedtime story as well from my old issues with color pictures from Fine Woodworking magazine… I hope LBD did a good job…

To any electricians, running 154 of 10/3 w/ground direct burial wire from my service entrance (has an exterior panel as part of the meter base box), would I need to derate from 30A to 20A for that distance? It will be buried directly in the soil with no conduit and terminated in a small sub panel in my shed.

Is this for shop work, as in heavy draw on start equipment? Or just a garden storage shed??

History Channel UFO Conspiracy: Hunt for the Truth has a lot of credible cases. Some with police and pilots sightings plus the public sighting them in an area for about a week. One was spotted in Canada, sighted as it crossed 4 or 5 states, and crashed in PA before the Air Force covered it up.

Hate to burst your bubble here, going to anyway>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Excellent documentary explaining how Counter Intelligence (Air Force, CYA, Navy, etc,.) created the Myth of Aliens to cover their Black Ops projects. Perception Management.

While people are focused on UP THERE and runnin in circles, they are NOT focused on DOWN HERE.

It's just a shed now and 2/0 aluminum would be the plan if it does become an insulated & climate controlled shop some time down the line. The biggest thing I can think of that might be used immediately would a 5hp (real 5hp, not SPL hp) air compressor. Anything else I can think of would be 120VAC, 15A like a circular saw or the like, lighting and battery maintainer(s) would be a regular draw of less than 4A total.

Good counter point, and if they will lie about this what else? The art of deception can work in many different directions. To include several at the same time by the same group / government etc etc.

So as not to cause an argument about current politics let us use the Egyptian Pyramids as an example. Mainstream Egyptian authorities postulate the theory as "fact" that the pyramids were built as Tombs for the Egyptian rulers. Fine, no issue with a theory. Small problem. No bodies have ever been found in those particular pyramids. Let us then look at the Valley of the Kings, where the actual rulers were buried. See for yourself in pictures how those tombs look. What all is in them as preparation for the afterlife. Now go back to the pictures of the Great Pyramid and observe no adornments, no hieroglyphs. Hmmm. Yet the Egyptian government and various agencies support and teach the Pyramids were tombs. Many theories exist on why this is, and what the real purpose of the pyramids was. Who knows, form your own opinion I am not one to push theories on people. And no I do not know or have a hard theory on the matter. Way too much to study and explore.

Oh Man, WBBN, you shouldnta went there. No, just joking. I could talk about this stuff for like forever.

First off, My Wife is leaving for Egypt Friday, for three weeks, horse riding, scuba diving in the Red Sea, then tourist stuff with her BFF. I get to stay here and take care of animals. Woohoo.

IM with ya on what you posted. One of the most interesting Egyptian "mysteries" are these, IMO:

There are 24 of them in a cave near Giza. They are made of solid Granite, and weigh 100tons. They are not tombs. They were all empty when opened. The interiors are absolutely flawless in how they were carved, like glass, and where the walls meet the floors there is a cove-like detail that is near perfect in symmetry - which is totally impossible if we are to accept that these boxes were carved with stone and soft metal. It seems the interior was vastly more important to whomever made them than the exterior. I saw a documentary on these, fascinating.

Ok, maybe not "totally impossible," I suppose.

It is possible that they were tombs for something in the spiritual sense, as in a perceived energy, rather than a body.

Google: "24 alien black boxes" and you can get lots of info on them.

Indeed, very mysterious. Love to watch film, videos and read on the latest digs and such. Been to several off the beaten path ones that are not as well known. Fascinating stuff to study.

Protection does not need to change with the length of the run.

5 hp may not start on the end of 150 feet of #10. If it does, it may overstress the motor and shorten its life. #8 is the code size for 5 hp at 240 volts. Actual motor nameplate data might change that. Lots of considerations for sizing for the voltage drop including your voltage drop from the transformer to your service. Our lights used to flicker because of VD because we're are 200 feet from the transformer. I suspect the power company upgraded the system with new development. I haven't noticed for quite a while. My shop vac dimmed the lights remodeling the bathroom. That is the first VD you will notice. I suspect #6 copper may be your minimum. Might want to just go with the #2 AL now. Copper will be tooooooooo spendy.

A sure sign of ancient alien technology ;-)

WE do not have the technology to precision cut stone like Puma Punku today.

While more expensive what Topamax suggested for wire size might be a better LONG term investment. I have a garden shed I built. The previous owner had a power outlet there with 10 gauge wire. Worked well till my wife wanted a radiant heater in it for the cats she keeps there in winter. (don't ask) Landed up having to go back and dig trench and run newer wire to accommodate that little extra.

The building I made for the Hot tub at the time I wired with 6guage as Topamax suggested and never had an issues. Even have a dedicated 220 volt line. Here is where conduit saved me extra work. I have a 3 inch PVC pipe from house to that building 30 ft away. When I wanted the 220 vt run, just shoved wire through and was done.

I had to run new wire to my garage this summer. I used 3/4" pvc conduit left a pull string in it. Like Gunny said it makes it easier later on if you want to add more wiring makes it a whole lot easier. The pvc conduit is pretty cheap and never have to worry about it rotting.

Ancient, sure. But why does it have to be ALIEN tech?

I prefer, in these cases, to defer to Occams Razor, which postulates that the simplest explanation is most often closest to the truth. If we see it here, then, logically, it came from here.

The theory of an advanced Human civilization that got wiped out by cataclysm or climate change or a multitude of other possible factors, in the long distant past, is just as plausible as Aliens, if not vastly more so. Just because You believe we cant do it today doesnt mean we cant, nor does it mean we couldnt have in a past age. For instance, we have plasma arc cutting tech today, plasma that is in excess of 20,000ºCelsius, which anyone can use or at least hire someone to do. If that is commercially available, what does the military industrial complex have access to?

See, I view LIFE not as a beginning and an end - but as cyclical, as are the seasons. Humans advance to the point where they destroy what they have created, remnants survive, revert to primal ways, then advance again, and so on - forever. It is the same for all creation, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, yet energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed.

Remember what I was saying about SOUND the other day - it isnt what you think it is.

"If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." Nicola Tesla

He Spoke the Word! Spoke = energy input = sound vibration/frequency = light = ALL.

So then, aside from how they cut those blocks of granite - how did they move them???? That granite is from Aswan, not far but also not just outside the cave.

We have had a lot of information on the civil unrest in the Northwest, ANTIFA 2020 but I was old enough to remember militant unrest in the 1960's. There was a prominent leader Rene Davis- he joined the top ranks of the activist organization Students for a Democratic Society and the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam. IMO these were the seeds for what we have today in the 2020 change movements.
