Using google chrome and having same issues

 

You guys that are having trouble typing and doing the select/copy/paste feature trying closing safari and/or restarting your phone. I've had that happen on other forums and that's worked for me. Seems to be an unrelated issue to the ad redirect.

 

I do not want to go against everybody here but why are you using Safari in the 1st place?
Chrome works just fine and not only for this site.

Good catch! They have blocked this. Let me know if it shows up again, if so you may have to clear cookies on your IOS but hopefully not.

On the select issue described above, it's still happening. On the iPad today, though, I noticed it's better when I zoom in on text. So, I'm thinking it's more likely an IOS thing than LJ-interface thing?

 

I did a little legwork on this last night after getting super frustimicated with the redirects and it appears to be an Apple problem that's not only on this site but others as well. Good news is that I found a work around that will mind eff your phone into not redirecting. Here's the gig:

Open Setting from your home page
Scroll down and click General
Scroll down and click Restrictions
Click Enable Restrictions at the top of the screen
It will prompt you to create a passcode
Create your passcode
Confirm your Passcode
Now scroll down and slide OFF the following: ITunes store, Installing Apps, and In-App Purchase.

The website will still try and redirect you but there's no where for it to redirect to with those items turned off. But if you do want to download anything from the app store or iTunes youll have to go back into the settings and turn on the things you've just turned off. I tried this last night and I haven't been redirected yet!

They have added some more blocking. Please let me know if it continues after clearing your history, cookies, etc.

 

My iPhone 4 did it a bunch today. Could not read the one thread I wanted to. After the redirect to the app store, when you go back into safari, it takes you one page before. Click on thread again, redirect to app store, back to safari, one page back, thread, redirect, safari, bla bla bla…………………………………………

 

And please get rid this crap

 

It's getting worse, not better. Just happened to me 3 times in less than 5 minutes. I wonder how many LJers will have to move to woodworking.web before things get better here.

 

Yeah had several double posts and failed posts today because of the ads popping.

 

I understand that this site needs revenue and I appreciate it s existence SO much!
That being said, I ve noticed very poor performance lately while using safari on my iphone 5s. The typing display often late far behind my actual typing, I keep loosing many posts when I hit the post button, pictures show that that take a very long time (minute or more) to upload to a post and often aren t actually posted.
Worst of all the adds for gaming apps keep redirecting safari to my mobile s App Store which is hugely frustrating and infuriating. Not sure that there is anything you can do about it but if you can, PLEASE DO!

Pop up setting in safari does nothing for this. I've always had that on and still get redirected. I'm on many of forums and other sites that run ads like you do here but have never had this problem. Food for thought admins.

 

Slyy, I just logged on the site, on my pc. I saw your thread, read some of it. My phone was sitting near by so I gave it a shot and no problems to report here. I see on the phone what I see on the pc screen. I click on stuff and it works, same has my pc. I can't hardly see anything on the tiny screen without a magnifying glass. I'm using the same phone, safari, the iOS is 8.1.2 No gaming redirects.
