Problem with my Ridgid R4510 table saw

Hi folks,

Today while feeding some 1/2 inch plywood to my table saw, I have noticed a significant change in sound, like it's was spinning faster than normal. So after I have cut the panel I let it run for a few seconds, and then it suddenly stopped, followed by a slight burn odor.

My table is plugged to a ceiling extension reel (Snapon), good quality. The fuse was popped out so I pressed the reset button. Started the table saw without feeding anything to it. The motor runs for about 5 seconds and then the fuse pops again. Same thing on two other contractor grade extension. Motor runs without any problem when directly plugged into the wall outlet, but the sound is still abnormal.

Table saw is about 3-4 years old. I am using it for woodworking purpose (hobby).

Any thoughts?

Thank you for support

Out of curiousity- what is the gauge wire in that Snap-on reel? Many of those reels are 16 gauge, not very suitable for a 15a machine. Using an ill-suited extension cord really puts a beating on a motor since they have to work so hard to draw adequate current (or so I've been told).

Only thing that is running is 4 48" T8 fluorescent fixtures. No dust collector, nothing.

I have just recorded a video. Here is the URL to it.
With blade

Without blade

Breaker did not trip this time, but the motor started to do another problem. RPM is changing now for no reason.

Tested with and without a blade. Blade is thin kerf.

Extension is 14 gauge.

Thanks

If you don't need your saw for a month or two and have the capability to get it a Service center providing you have one close by do that if not try and fix it.

To me that looks and sounds like a switch problem, as it idles up and down in RPM, if you are capable of disassembling the switch assembly look that over real well. If nothing looks popped on the soft start actuator and the rest of the assembly looks ok and you reassemble it and it still does the same thing I believe you're going to be replacing a motor.
