Out of curiousity- what is the gauge wire in that Snap-on reel? Many of those reels are 16 gauge, not very suitable for a 15a machine. Using an ill-suited extension cord really puts a beating on a motor since they have to work so hard to draw adequate current (or so I've been told).

 

If this just now happened, something is wrong with the saw motor. Could be a bearing that has started to seize. It could also be the circuit breaker is going bad.
I had a similar problem with my air conditioner. It would trip the breaker. When I replaced the breaker, problem solved.

 

When I plug it directly into the wall it does not trip. But the motor really sounds like it's running fast than usual.

I will test tonight if it draws more than 15A, which should normally not.

I have been using that setup for over two years so that's pretty strange…

 

Did you add a heater or any other amp draw?

I have been boggled how nearly every plug in my shop is wired to the same breaker.

 

Only thing that is running is 4 48" T8 fluorescent fixtures. No dust collector, nothing.

Breaker did not trip this time, but the motor started to do another problem. RPM is changing now for no reason.

Tested with and without a blade. Blade is thin kerf.

Extension is 14 gauge.

Can't help you identify what the problem is but why not just take it into the Service Center and have it fixed, at no cost to you, under the LLSA Program?

 

If you don't need your saw for a month or two and have the capability to get it a Service center providing you have one close by do that if not try and fix it.

To me that looks and sounds like a switch problem, as it idles up and down in RPM, if you are capable of disassembling the switch assembly look that over real well. If nothing looks popped on the soft start actuator and the rest of the assembly looks ok and you reassemble it and it still does the same thing I believe you're going to be replacing a motor.
