Poor website performance

I hope you folks understand how poorly the site is running. It's near impossible to post a project with pictures. Not a good start for VerticalScope. The quality of LJ has been deteriorating since Escalate Media took over.

It's not the web content or content managers that are at issue, but seems the technology employed is inadequate. How about putting some resources into making the site run better.

The only value of LJ comes from member postings. Its getting increasingly more difficult to post.

My download speed is 32.41 and my upload speed is 4.24. My problem isn't much speed, as it is having photos dissappear as I load them (Joe, this is why the dining table project isn't up yet). The pop-ups drive me mad and slow my connection drastically. I am usually running firefox, sometimes google chrome; my OS is windows 7, and I have every pop-up blocker ever made. But, I acknowledge that I am a tech idiot, so there could be something I am missing.

I would have timed it, but I was distracted and started smelling my new plane again ;) (haha, it took 10 seconds)

I love Lumberjocks but I now see poor performance when browsing projects, too. The ad servers are sometimes so slow in providing ads that it delays my scrolling down the page as well as my "click through" to the next page. Watch the status bar in your browser - you can watch it churning away as you try to move from page to page.

Hope this gets addressed so we don t have to rely on Pinterest for our daily woodworking project fix :)

I am having exactly the same problem.

This is also my problem, along with occasional stuttering when I type.

I've had the same problem at certain times in the past as well. Lately, I've also been posting on ***.com and find that it's almost instantaneous. Also, while the site is relatively new, it is attracting a high quality cast of members. So, I've been posting there as well and enjoy their content. You might want to check it out.

Error I received when I posted a comment to a thread from my iPad:

Error 1001 Ray ID: 199e6ef3a9e210b7

DNS resolution error

What happened?

You've requested a page on a website (lumberjocks.com) that is on the CloudFlare network. CloudFlare is currently unable to resolve your requested domain (lumberjocks.com). There are two potential causes of this:

Most likely: if the owner just signed up for CloudFlare it can take a few minutes for the website's information to be distributed to our global network.
Less likely: something is wrong with this site's configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider) and the provider's DNS fails.

have been using Chrome for last 2 years… adblock plus installed. No issues with speed, downloading, uploading, forums, blogs, projects.
For those with issues.. what browser do you use? IE? Firefox? Chrome?
and what extensions do you use?
what time of day?
anyone else uploading in the house on a different PC, from smartphone? anyone running Pandora somewhere on the network? has someone hacked your network and hogging bandwidth?
Really… could be 101 things, LJ's being just one culprit.

PS: i also use ScriptSafe to block / control java scripting. there very well could be some major script errors going on with some Ad scripts.

doesnt make sense… or it's well over my head of computing and browsing. i have chrome and AdBlock Plus… no ads and backspace works. i would wager, there is something amiss with your computer as others have no problem with LJ's.

I gave up listing my last 2 projects.

Google Chrome, everything on my side updated. I'm also getting the ghosting pics that were mentioned in another post.

Working in a 8k sq ft home atm doing built ins. I'd like to share them, but I can't get pictures to load when I submit a project. I gave up.
