This is also posted in that HTTP Versus HTTPS Forum. It's become so Convoluted and this Info is Lost somewhere near the End of it.

I thought it was important enough to Post on it's own. I am NOT a Computer Expert and don't really know how serious this is! Management might be able to handle it as No Big Deal?

The Screen Shot Cutouts are ALL from Google. They are NOT in any particular Order.

My work computer used to do this last year. It was a firewall setting.

This is NOT a firewall setting. This is a GOOGLE ISSUE. What else that's tied into GOOGLE might this affect.

It Relates directly to NOT Being an HTTPS Secure Site as stated by Google in the above GOOGLE Page Cut Outs!

Exactly what maps are you talking about? Here is one working on your profile page (screenshot taken about a minute ago):

Yes. Those are the Maps. To ME it is also darkened.

This what my Home Page looks like right now. It's advanced from "Darkened" to the Message shown. Except if you click on the "OK"in the First Message Above it brings back the Darkened Map.

Then it sure sounds like something on your end causing the problem IMO. Works fine here.

Which browser are you using?

- lumbering_on
Try downloading a different browser and trying it to see if it's a browser issue or computer issue.
I did the windows 10 reset fresh start(it deletes bloat ware) and I have issues with video play back in firefox and edge. So it was something that was deleted causing the issue just haven't had time to reinstall thing to find out what it is. Good luck rick and I hope it's one of the first item you try my luck it will be the last thing I try.

The last refresh made me want to chew nails. Continuous BSODs as I have some specialized setups on my computer.

Rick,

I see the same thing on your profile page:

My PC is running Windows 10 1803. The browser being used is Firefox 62.0.3 64 bit.

When I browse to maps.google.com typed into the address bar of Firefox, I see Maps as expected.

Could Firefox be refusing to load an HTTP api call?

NOTE: I am not a web developer and don't play one on TV.

Maybe there have been Google maps api changes that are causing the map call to fail.

When I activate the Firefox developer tools and look at the console I see:

Lumbering I haven t had any death screens just the choppy video playback. They put a fix out for YouTube but other streaming sites are like watching on dial up.

Firefox has a known problem with the tcpip.sys module. I mostly use Chrome, but I like some of the features in Firefox, so I use it from time to time.

None of you are having a problem. Updated browsers should show you what you see. This is a security issue with LJ and not having an SSL certificated updated properly (or having one at all).

The Google plugin will not display correctly because the page is not configured or secured as it should be. There is nothing you can do about it.
