OK, as I fumble along here, I'm actually learning stuff, haven't cut any fingers off (yet), have bought a bunch of poplar sawed timber (on the recommendation of a post here as a common semi-hardwood here in France) which I need to feed through my planer/thicknesser, but that's another post.
The immediate question here: I bought a Dewalt 625 plunge router when I was setting up, thinking I wouldn't need a router table. As I said, I'm learning. I'm making a whole bunch of kitchen cabinets, and I'll be needing to rabbet a whole bunch of door rails and stiles, which alone would call for a router table (I now understand). I'd like to make one, but I'd rather get some experience beforehand. So, I bought a table from Axminster which seems pretty solid, although it does have a pretty feeble fence. But for the time being, it'll do.
The table comes with a universal insert. My question is, what's the best way to mount the DW25? Do I use the six screws on the bottom face of the router that hold the phenolic face on? Or do I use the three larger threaded holes that nothing goes in as of now? Let me know if photos would be helpful. In either case, I'll have to hunt down the correct machine screws, which will be a chore here in very un-DIY-friendly France. And, to double check, I assume I take the phenolic face off for use under the table?
