I've had minor issues, since getting my tablet, with LJs not responding, when I hit "refresh"....
Today it is nearly impossible to post!!!

I have a Windows Surface RT:

I keep getting "not responding" messages….

I also get "long running script" messages….

Do other people running Windows RT or Windows 8 have these issues?
Realizing that this website has so many technical issues….
I don't see them "optimizing" the site to run better on RT or 8.
Just wondering if I'm alone in this or if others are dealing with this???

Thanks Cricket!

Bob,
I can open IE in "desktop" mode, but I like the larger screen size while running in RT version.
I have done that, with other sites & still have issues.

Oh yeah, I blame Marty for everything that goes wrong!!!

I had the same problem on my desktop pc when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8. I went back to 7 and all is good again.

I don't have any problems on my ipad.

But…...I am on my County owned tablet running Windows 8 right now and no problems of any kind.

In other words, my post is pretty much useless. :)

Stop using IE get Chrome a lot of 32 bit ARM processors have problems loading flash elements on sites, you can try updating shockwave and flash for IE but I have better luck using Chrome that way it auto updates flash.

Op I apologize Randy I didn't read past Surface, RT isn't the same as Windows 8 or 8 pro and Microsoft was kind enough to lock you into only being able to use IE on RT as both Mozilla and Google gave up efforts into trying to develop their browser to work with the RT platform…sorry your kind of SOL with that version of the Surface.

Thanks folks….

I won't be holding my breath, but I'll see what Cricket comes up with….
Not a dig at Cricket, she's GREAT!!! Just don't see the LJ tech squad solving this problem….

You may be correct. I researched it for a bit tonight and it looks like Windows RT may have some compatibility issues with some sites. I will let you know if I can find out more.

As for your other question, I use Windows 8.1 with no issues at all. I am not a big fan of IE though. My default browser is Chrome.

InstantSiv,
Thanks for the info, link and great advice. I'll be doing that soon!!!
It's good to know that perhaps there will be a solution….

Don,
I have a windows phone also, seems to do ok….

So it appears that it is ME, or my tablet. I'll look into the MS community thing….
