I searched and did not find anything on this but I think it would be a great improvement to the site to have a "Like" button for projects. There are a lot of times I don't really have enough to say to warrant posting a comment but I really like a project someone has done. Is this something the moderators could add?

I use the FAVORITE button like the LIKE button on FB. Not only do I like it, I add it to my list of favorite projects and can go back and look in my FAVORITE bucket if I want to revisit that project.

True that is an option; however, I use the favorite button more for projects I would like to one day build myself

No. Though I know many comments are perfunctory, I think that button would further diminish the input from others. It would just be too easy to click it and move on. If you like something, just say so and maybe explain why. It's not really that difficult or time consuming.

Maybe it's just me, but I like to read others comments. What people like about a specific project, or questions they have on a project. I think it's interesting to see the different tastes people have. I feel like I have even gotten to know some of you a bit just by your comments.

I completely agree with this and enjoy answering any questions and getting feedback on projects I have posted. Sometimes i just don't have anything to say but really like someone's project so I end up with a comment of "nice" or "looks great". Just wonder if more people would be inclined to leave a response if it was as simple as a "like" button

I follow a forum for one of my two favorite college football teams that has a like button and there is no shortage of commentary on it. Many posters will "like" a another's reply to show agreement and then still make their own response. Another use is acknowledging someone responding to your question, kind of like a thank you.

Because if you have a like button it is like facebook people will just hit the like button and not get in the conversation. If they add a like button it would be nice to have a dislike button also but that would get out of hand. You can just use the favorite option and in the text line put build or liked design or whatever you need to distinguish between the projects.

Why am I against it? Ljs is not Facebook if a person prefers a "like" button that would be the place to have short Likes.
Ljs thrives on comments Likes are not real comments they show approval and that's about it. Even though I don't always agree with everyone's opinion each person can express their point of view.

Like Smitty said

Like means too lazy to actually comment. It s catering to communication in the most impersonal of ways. Basically what driver Lloyd said.
