As many of you know Grizzly has been running a 10% and I am looking to buy a bench top jointer from them.

Is there any difference between the Shop Fox w1829 vs Grizzly G0725? They look the same, have similar weight and specs.

Shop Fox is $342 shipped (normally $399)

Grizzly is $292 plus a $49 freight charge (normally $325). No idea why the Grizzly has a freight charge and the Shop Fox doesn't. Same size, weight, etc.

I am learning towards the Shop Fox as it seems to be the more expensive one with the same price. But Grizzly seems to be their main product line.

Any help or thoughts between the two?

It's my understanding that Shop Fox tools are made by Grizzly and just branded differently for distribution purposes. (Shop Fox is sold through dealers whereas Grizzly is sold direct.) Both those jointers are likely the same machine with different paint and other small details.

ShopFox is the in-store brand for Grizzly. Grizzly sells direct only. That does not mean every detail is identical. They do make little changes depending what OEM is building them this week.

I have had good luck with WEN as cheap tools. But for sure, I found out a benchtop planer just does not get the job done. It could edge joint almost as good as a table saw and is too small for the flat edge before planing. Wasted money I believe.
