Save the customer money by making a leg shape
you know how to make efficiently.

People on here have inquired many times about
this general style of pedestal leg and I've never
seen a quick & easy solution proposed. You'll
have to remove the waste, refine the shape with
hand tools and do a lot of sanding.

 

Glue up blocks from const. grade lumber. Shape it then veneer it.

 

You can see from the picture that the leg is glued up from several pieces of pine at least three that I can see. Do you have a bandsaw that has the capacity to cut the leg? If so it is pretty straight forward. Laminate a block of wood sufficient size, square it up. Then cut the profile for the main part on 2 adjacent sides, save the waste and use double sided tape to tape the waste back in place then cut the opposite sides to match other sides. Then begin sanding and sanding and sanding. I would not attempt to make it hollow, any savings in cheap pine would be eaten up by greatly increasing the labor and time to make it.

+1 customer seems to think that material costs are an easy place to save money. Not true. Your time is what adds up the fastest and making it hollow is going to take a lot longer.

 

Not your exact leg but may give you some ideas on building such a leg.

I wish I could buy a Cadalic for the price of a VW.
