Parallax errors can be an issue with any fence setup that has a magnifier bubble over the cursor; it's not brand-specific.

Parallax error is present with any scale reading; the magnifier just makes it more noticeable to me.

I wear progressive lenses, and I have to make sure I'm direct overhead when reading the cursor. I have always accepted the situation. With 63 year old eyes, I'd rather have the magnifier and make sure I account for parallax error.

 

Hi, I have the ALPHA HW110S-36P, and for me it's not any different than any other magnified tape measure, they all seem to have their own idiosyncrasies, you really just have to get used to reading that particular one (Jet, Grizzly, Dewalt, etc…). My issue with the readout was that the "L" and the "H" knobs were installed reversed and the documentation had it incorrect as well, which I didn't realize until after setting it all up. Otherwise I think these are great saws.

 

I never bothered to even attach the tape - I put a Wixey DRO on it instead once I set it up and never looked back for the $99 the Wixey cost. My eyes are the same age as RClark and getting an accurate read with clear numbers is sweet.
