Exterior stain/sealer indoors? Cedar

Hey everyone. First post here, but I've got a lot of projects coming up, so plenty more to come.

I'm getting ready to do a cedar plank accent wall in my home office. I want to achieve the same golden-red color often seen on cedar privacy fences (see the images I've included below)... obviously an exterior stain/sealer. I had hoped to replicate this coloring with an interior stain and then apply polycrylic over the planks, but none of the interior stains I've tried on samples are quite right.

It would of course be easy to go buy exterior stain/sealer for this project… but is it safe to use on an indoor project? My assumption would be no, given whatever additives to make the stain weather resistant.

Any suggestions for how to safely achieve this coloration in my office? Thanks in advance.

You probably want to use a water based deck sealer. It has fewer VOCs and should dry thoroughly in a couple of days. They come in a variety of colors from "natural" to a rainbow of shades. Also some are called Cedar and may have just the coloring you want.
