Different project, same idea - finishing a Christmas tree

I'll be attempting one of these spiral pine Christmas Trees for the first time, and if it gets my customer's attention I'd like to be able to crank some of these out. This picture comes from the plans I bought off Etsy. I'd like to go for this kind of look, keeping it natural and accenting the wood's natural character. Is there a finish that would achieve this look and work well in production?

Yes. There's a product called CAB acrylic lacquer wich is supposed to be crystal clear. I've never used it but read good reviews. It's solvent based I believe.

Or any waterborne acrylic urethane will also work. Also a clear, non-yellowing topcoat. Lots of options out there for these products.

Either can be sprayed and will dry really fast for a shop or production setting, as little as 15 minutes. Usually 2-3 coats is all you need, so you are looking at about 1 hour or less. Temperature dependent of course.

Thanks for the product recommendations. I just now have all the pieces cut so I'll be testing finishes soon. I was hoping to only have to do one application, whatever I end up using. Sounds like I can't go wrong with the acrylic laquer or urethane you suggested.

Any opinion on using a hard-dryinig oil? That's the recommendation I got from another forum.

Is it possible to spray this stuff from a gravity-fed HVLP sprayer with a 30 gal air compressor? The direction sheet doesn't mention it can be sprayed. Also, if it can, any advice on how to do it is appreciated. The only thing I've read so far is to dilute it with about 25% lacquer thinner before shooting.
