Hi all. I'm new to this site and forum. I am finally, after 32 years, working on putting my shop together. I'm at the stage now in doing some remodeling. My shop will be 21×20. I gutted the 8' ceiling to make a cathedral for more head room. I'm using 1×6 t&g v groove #2 pine for the final. My question is, should I stain it or leave it natural?
Thanks for your input.

After having a shop with wood paneling my current shop has drywall painted white with lots of lighting. The white walls make it so much brighter and my aging eyes need all the help they can get. So, in my opinion, don't stain (which makes it darker) but leave it natural or even consider a white wash to lighten it even more.

As others have said and in opposition to the Rolling Stones "Paint it White" You appreciate the reflected light which will make seeing what you're doing easier. I've a barn and two tracks of fluorescent and its still dim. It was only when I started putting up Husky Trackwall (white rails) that the shop started to seem a little brighter and easier to see in.
