Corner Shelves... How do these mount?

Well, it happens again… Wife looks at Pinterest, and has a build request. This time, she wants a shelving unit for the corner. Shelf looks fairly simple to build, but what I am puzzled by, is how do these things mount?? She wants to put her books on it, and maybe a few knick-knack things, and books aren't exactly light. We have two little ones, and the last thing I want is for a shelf full of books to come crashing down on one of them.

Oh, and she wants it to be 3 tiers, instead of two. Even more weight, great!

Any ideas? If the design needs to change slightly, to incorporate a safe mounting solution, I am all ears.

i'd guess screws/bolts into studs and then either angled holes in the 2×4s or key-hole slots. Either would hide the mounting bolt.

I'd probably use little corner irons and put them in spots where a book would hide it. If you go with lags with a cutoff head you'll need to use at least 5/4 material.

Why not put a back panel on them and paint the panel to match the wall? Same look and no one will notice the depth is off by a bit.

I just drew this up quickly, the boards running vertical, I would either route in or screw on some of the keyhole hangers mentioned above. Now I just need to pitch the idea of having the vertical supports

If you get the go-ahead, locate your studs before you build the shelves.
