They look like homemade hold down clamps that were used on a cnc router tbh.

 

I thought they were hold downs too but he never had any cnc equipment.

 

Those work in T-track for drill press hold-downs, etc. The bolt heads may not fit in T-track you can easily buy... he may have sort of made his own or something. You can grind the heads a bit to fit common T-track if they don't fit now.

Plans for that sort of thing used to be in woodworking magazines.

 

They look like a coathanger for a smurf... however, after enlarging the photo... more likely some well designed, shopmade holdowns in your pop's favourite t-tracks.

I have and use metal ones that came with various commercial jigs, sleds, etc. I use them often.

Your father's hold downs are so much better than my metal ones. Enjoy them with good memories of your father!

As scraps roll by, I might make some of my own to replace the metal ones I have. Those are nice.
