An LJ peeve and a simple solution

Love LJ, but one thing that really irks me is you're 8 posts down in a thread and who's the original poster?

So, my suggestion is, if you are the thread starter, simply preface your replies with "OP".

Or, maybe LJ can do what a lot of other forums do, and indicate the original poster or discussion starter!!!!

Or, have I missed something?

Maybe i'm missing something, but the first poster in the thread is the OP.

Once you get to this message that I'm posting now, the first post has scrolled off the top of screen and you can no longer glance up and see who is the OP. Is it me? Better scroll back up and look… I'll wait…

Nope. Not me. But you can see when Robert responded previously, he started his post with "OP" indicating that he is the OP of this thread. That way you always know when the OP is responding.

Not a big deal for me. I always browse on a desktop PC and scrolling is pretty easy with the mouse wheel.

There is no need to scroll up to see the OP, at least with Firefox. Just hover your cursor over the LJ tab:

Well now you'll be responsible for my weaker/fatter right wrist. It used to get plenty of exercise scrolling to the top, to looksee, then scrolling back. Now I just need a quick swipe, jeesh this will mean at least 2 weeks a year at the flabby wrist farm, trying to get it back into shape. :)

Honest, didn't know this

Thanks Chuck.

LOVE IT! I wouldn't have noticed that. Thanks!

Having said that, I still have to agree with OP that it would be nice if the system itself could just highlight the name or put "OP" or something like that next to their name when they post replies. I'm all about saving as much movement as possible. i.e. - I'm lazy!
