My workshop is my basement. I refinished my basement with the idea that I would make it a workshop, however I wanted to finish it nice enough such that if I ever moved, it could be converted to a regular finished basement.

It’s roughly 20’x20’ minus a bit for stairs and closets. Also my wife’s upright piano is there taking up valuable tool space.

Major tools include, Grizzly G1023SL table saw with router table , Dewalt 735 planer, AMT 6” jointer. Dewalt compound miter saw. And that’s about it.

It sounds like you have an interesting shop space in which to work. How about posting some pictures of your shop when you get the time?

As a suggestion your wife’s upright piano does have some nice wood in it. Do you think she would notice if you were to re-direct it into something else. You get free wood and gain some shop space…hmmmmm But it probably isn’t worth the grief you would get over doing something like this. :)

Looking forward to some pictures. If your wife doesn’t play that piano, you could always make a tool cabinet out of it, and she would think it’s still down there for safe keeping.

Yeah . . . pictures coming soon. In the meantime, you can see a whole mess of them from when I refinished it last year. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=12tw1zjl.c4n2iuq5&x=1&y=y6zyw5

I realized I don’t have any real current shots with all the tools in place. I’ll get some this weekend.

Hmmm . . . piano tool cabinet. :-) Unfortunately, she does play it once every few months. Good idea though. I have to build her a bench for it at some point. That’s down there on the “honey-do” list.
