A Shopsmith Mark V is a multi-functional tool supporting a wide range of woodworking operations including table saw, lathe, disc sander, belt sander, drum sander, jointer, thickness planer, plate joiner, drill press, shaper, router, and many others.

One of the secrets to making all these tools operate successfully from a single motor has to do with the signature dial on the front of the Shopsmith Mark V.

The dial sets the spindle rpm. Do not adjust it unless the motor is running.
