This shop is a free standing building very close to my house. The door of an oversized garage is in fact 25ft. from the shop door. This allows me to use it for all storage of wood and less frequently used tools keeping the shop less cluttered. The third bay of the garage is really another part of the shop. The pictured room is slightly L shaped and is 27ft long. The width would average 17ft. The walls are exterior house siding. The second photo shows the two floors. one is the old part and the lighter color is the addition which took place after I retired. It was completed about 5yrs ago. To the right of the workbench is a door which leads outside to the back side and a 6 by 10 concrete pad which after being enclosed will eventually house the compressor. The large wooden wall cabinet houses routers, sanders, and such. I used up alot of wall space with the windows but couldn’t help myself as it is open country and the distance you can see is unbelievable. Pikes Peak is 35 miles away but looks like it is in my yard. Thanks for visiting ;-J P.S., Table saw is now a SawStop Cabinet Saw.

I agree with you on the windows. I don’t have nearly your view, just my backyard, but I put in 3 windows 3’ x 5’ each. Even though I’d like the wallspace, I would never give up all the natural light and outside view.

I grew up in the shadow of Pikes Peak, I hail from Colorado Springs. It was a wonder to learn this craft while looking out the window to see the Rockies and Pikes Peak herself. We Coloradans are lucky, the daily view off our front porch we see every morning is something most folks just see in postcards. Alas, now I am living in Oregon. While it is beautiful here also, nothing matches the breathtaking beauty of my home state. I love your shop, clean, well lit, organized… the polar opposite of my dingy cavern! lol

Hey Joe, great shop! I just checked out your shop and projects, I like what you do. Our shops are similar in size and tools. I have looked at your projects before today too and I thought that I had commented on at least one but I didn’t see where I did. I guess that I didn’t after all. I do recongnize many of them that I have looked at. Glad to have you around.

Wonderful shop—-I would get lost in all that room——I would try to find myself—- I have 2 new belts for your 6 X 48 Delta sander if you ever need one.
