I hate to embarass myself (WON’T be the first time) but why do many of us refer to turned , lided piece as a box? Any box I have ever owned had flat sides unless it was for candy or maybe a hat? Anyway, guess I’ll get back to turning this hollowed vessel with a lid….........;-j

1. a container with a flat base and sides, typically square or rectangular and having a lid.

I guess because it has a lid and that is how I have heard of a hollowed vessel with a lid referenced as.

Brett! Don’t worry buddy, there are hundreds of woodworkers with this infliction….......I havn’t lost any sleep over this. Just curious, really. By the way, I really liked that last ves…box thing you did…......;-j
