I am an amature, self taught woodworker living in southern California. My shop is a 3 car garage at my home that is wired for 220v single phase. I basically signed up as a Lumberjock to be DIGITALLY inspired by other fellow LJ's.
I have been working with wood since high school with the exception college years since I lived in an apartment during that time. Ever since I was a kid I liked making things. This led me to persue a degree in mechanical engineering and work in bio tech industry for 23 years. During that period I became very serious about woodworking and started putting a shop together. Over the years I have accumulated lots of tools (ya I forgot to mention I LIKE TOOLS). Few years back I left my job in high tech and started a business(not wood related) and continued woodworking as a hobby(border line hobby/obssesion), and I hope I'll be doing it for many years to come.
Here is a partial list of my shop tools:
*sawstop table saw
*knap 16 in jointer/planer
*hitachi resaw/band saw(not my favorite tool)
*lots of metal hand planes
*chisels
*a shop made work bench (pictures will be posted soon in project section)
*shop made, Brian Boggs inspired shave horse (pictures are posted in project section)
*lots of clamps
*delta bench top mortiser
*shop made slot mortiser
*shop made vacuum press
*a bosch 3 hp router for router table
*makita plunge router
*dewalt trim router
*tormek wet grinder
*Baldor Bench grinder
*lots of japanese and western style hand saws
*accuspray hvlp
*onieda cyclone dust collector
*3 hp oneway 2436 wood lathe
shop pictures COMMING SOON

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
