I made these as practice, from some of the walnut i rescued last weekend, and some dowels I got from an auction a few months ago, I wish I had a drill press, hand drilling the holes was difficult, but a table saw will be my next shop investment. the walnut sure looks good finished, I used a light brown stain for both the walnut and the oak and then one coat of polyurathane. I used a 1/4 drill but for the stop thinking that would work for 1/4 dowels, but it was too tight so I sanded down the dowels, and the knob was a small piece from the 1” dowel I used for the body. I used a biscuit to join the walnut together, and sanded a 1’ spade bit for the center drill.
