safety of ca for inlays on cheese boards - 18 replies

i would like to do some inlay work on cheese boards. debating between ca, epoxy, and inlace. any thoughts??? thanks!!

trying to rout a groove on all 4 sides of a board 10 x 10 for a chese board - 1 reply

i want to make a 4 sided cheese board with a raised center for the cheese. going to finish the outside withe narrow rail to hold crackers in place. any ideas on the best way to rout the groove??? thank you for any help

cutting board - 1 reply

what i want to do is put an end piece on the board fastened to end grain. i know that end grain does not glue well, so i figured that i could use dowel pins to fasten the two together. just use glue on the center pin to allow for expansion, etc. will this work??

red or white oak for a serving board - 9 replies

i am trying to make serving trays with a recess in them to hold raw veggies, etc. want to laminatye 2 pieces of lumber together for a top and bottom. like to use oak for the bottom layer 1/4 in thick. any one see any problems??? thanks everyone for your assistance.

cutting slices for an end grain cutting board - 10 replies

i never seen to be able to cut nice even slices to turn on edge for an end grain cutting board. have tried several routes, but none seem to work for me. any ideas????? any help would be greatly appreciated. i hate to give up on them as you can do so many different designs.
