For many, this is shop season. For me, it’s too cold in my shop, so I work on other things. Over the summer, I picked up a set of Japanese chisels. So sharpening them is something I can do indoors. People new to woodworking may assume, as I did, that chisels (and planes) are ready to go out of the box. So I’m also starting a series about things you have to do to some tools before you use them.
