Designing a barn for my backyard. using scrap materials, but would like it to look good also. Will use it for yard machinery & storage.
So far I have:
11’x11’ conctete pad, with a 4’x4’ c/pad centered on west wall (Pool pump& filter)
Two 9’x 4’ heavy steel Pallet racking with shelves. they will stand on east * west sides of Largepad facing North/south.
I will frame around the top with pressure-treated 2”x6”x12’s, also around the middle & bottom.
They will be bolted to the P/R.
This will give a 11’x11’x 9’tall box. depending on cost/avalibility, I plan to use corrugated metal for roof & 3 sides. Front will be T-111 siding. There will be 2” sq. unistrut for top & bottom rails for twin sliding doors (board & batten).
There will be a enclosure arounnd the pool pump & filter, also cor/metal.
Now the fun begins.
I am limited to 12 foot to top of roof. I don’t want the roof to look as an afterthought. I am going to use Sketchup, to try a few options.
Any ideas?
PS: In a perfect world, I would have done Post & Beam using
4by, or 6by lumber. The 2×6x12 & pallet racks were free!
